Empowering Impactful Change: Concordium Partners with LEVEA

Concordium
April 9, 2024

Concordium is set to partner with LEVEA, an NGO based in Austria, to transform healthcare delivery for refugees and marginalized communities. LEVEA’s innovative approach leverages AI to improve user experience and blockchain technology to enhance data security, integrity, and interoperability.

LEVEA offers an eHealth solution that enhances diagnostic capabilities for trained medical professionals. By incorporating artificial intelligence and leveraging the expertise of healthcare professionals, they can transform patient’s pathways by automating processes, thus saving precious time and resources. Additionally, their telemedicine feature allows for more remote consultations, ensuring consistent care and accessibility to healthcare services.

The partnership aims to address the unique challenges faced by these communities through tailored solutions, including a publicly verified Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system and AI-driven symptom diagnosis protocol.

Addressing Market Gaps and Alignment with Concordium’s Mission

The absence of an eHealth solution can have a profound impact on the masses, particularly in terms of healthcare delivery. Without such a tool, patients may experience delays in diagnosis as healthcare providers rely on manual processes, potentially leading to poorer health outcomes.

LEVEA is already making a real impact where it matters most. Currently operational in two refugee camps in Iraq, the project is poised to expand its reach, with more camps set to benefit from its approach. By addressing crucial issues faced by vulnerable populations, specifically those related to health and health tools, LEVEA is transforming healthcare access and delivery in areas with the greatest need.

Concordium, known for its commitment to supporting Web3 initiatives that bring tangible value and impact, has recognized the significance of this project’s work. This partnership underscores Concordium’s dedication to leveraging blockchain technology for meaningful change, aligning perfectly with LEVEA’s mission to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.

The project centers on integrating Concordium’s blockchain for secure, transparent data management, verification, and accountability. Its technical architecture features centralized platforms for scalability, user and aid worker portals for easy access, a chat function for refugees, and robust security measures.

Technical Implementation and Overview

Technically, the partnership will allow refugees to create account aliases based on emails, ensuring secure data entries to the database that can be mapped to specific users. Data entries will be hashed and signed on-chain to validate healthcare information passed on to new camps or healthcare professionals, reducing duplication and enhancing efficiency.

Under the umbrella of Hora e.V, an NGO committed to research and innovative social development, LEVEA operates with the backing of strategic partnerships with organizations like UNHCR and Ernst & Young LLP. These collaborations enhance LEVEA’s ability to customize its solutions for displaced populations, ensuring both compliance and a strong market presence.

Outcomes and Benefits of the Partnership

The outcome of this partnership is significant. It will facilitate the development of blockchain-based solutions for secure data management and ensure the platform meets global healthcare and privacy standards.

The target audience for this initiative includes enterprises and individuals interested in innovative solutions for healthcare delivery. The partnership will benefit the target audience by providing secure and transparent data management solutions that meet global standards.

Manuel Knott and Sarra-Maryam Fezzani from LEVEA are the spokespersons for this partnership. Their expertise and dedication to the cause make them ideal representatives for this groundbreaking collaboration.

The grant aims to enable rapid progress, with announcements expected in the first week of April and the project going live in late Q2 2024.
