Election to the Governance Committee

Anyone with relevant skills and experiences is welcome to be a candidate. This includes but is not limited to technical expertise on blockchain and Web3, entrepreneurs building on the Concordium chain and representatives of the community of CCD holders.

The Concordium Governance Committee (GC) works remotely. Its members discuss the current and future developments of the Concordium blockchain by email, messaging and video calls, and formulate recommendations for the Concordium Foundation Board. All internal GC communication and discussions are in English. A more detailed overview of the GC’s work can be found in the governance section of the Concordium website.

The candidate nomination window is open from the 2nd of April to the 23rd of April 2024.

Candidate Nominations and Campaigning

Once the application window closes and the final list of candidates is available, it will be shared with the community, and the candidates will be given opportunities to present themselves and their motivation for joining the GC.

Note that to keep the amount of candidate information that a voter needs to process manageable, and to mitigate decision fatigue, the number of candidates for the election will be limited to 10. In the event where there are more than 10 nominees, the current governance committee will make a selection based on the involvement of the candidates with the chain and their relevant skills and experiences.

The candidates will be elected by CCD holders. The election will be held on the Concordium blockchain between the 11th and 23rd of June 2024. All account holders are welcome to vote, where votes are weighted by the amount of CCD on the accounts. More details on the election process and rules can be found here.

All personal data will only be accessible to the current Governance Committee, Foundation Board, and any personnel processing the data on their behalf. Private data will be handled confidentially, and only released to the community with the explicit consent of the nominee.
