Ready to flex your crypto skills and be part of something bigger than just another blockchain? We’re calling on YOU to step up as a Guardian in the 2025 on-chain Governance Committee election. It’s your chance to safeguard Web3 democracy, help the network grow, and earn some CCD along the way. Sounds good? Let’s dive in.
What’s a Guardian, Anyway?
Think of Guardians as the digital key masters of Concordium’s governance election process. These community heroes are in charge of making sure our voting stays private, secure, and tamper-proof. Using advanced cryptography like zero-knowledge proofs and homomorphic encryption (yeah, we’re fancy), Guardians help encrypt and decrypt votes so tallying is accurate and everything runs smoothly.
In short: No Guardians = No fair election. And we prefer fairness, confidentiality and integrity.
What’s Required to Be A Guardian
- Fire up the Guardian app on your computer and complete all the required steps when needed.
- Be available for scheduled activities like test runs, key generation, and vote decryption.
- Be awesome. (Optional, but encouraged.)
Just to manage expectations, running the Guardian software to perform the key generation and tally decryption only takes a few minutes, but it might take a few minutes every day for several days, depending on the availability of the other fellow Guardians.
11 Guardians will be randomly drawn from eligible registrations. Any member of the Concordium community who is not a candidate for the election can take part.
And yes, there’s a reward — $100 worth of CCD for every brave Guardian who completes the mission.
