Gateway App, a Nigerian-based NFT-powered gaming, learning & product discovery platform has received a grant from Concordium. The platform is leveraging Concordium’s cutting-edge technology to deliver immersive gaming experiences that blend entertainment with blockchain technology to drive engagement and innovation.

By harnessing the power of NFTs, Gateway App is making in-game assets truly ownable and tradable for the 2 billion gamers worldwide playing games that do not truly own the in-game assets they acquire. Users can finally derive real value from games as they play.

Addressing the Challenge of Web3 Adoption

Web3 adoption faces significant hurdles, without widespread user engagement the true potential of decentralized solutions remains untapped. Recognizing this challenge, Gateway App and Concordium are joining forces to create compelling gaming & learning experiences that incentivize user participation and propel the adoption of Web3.

Gateway combines play-to-earn, gamified learn-to-earn and discover-to-earn experiences to simplify the complexities of blockchain technology, wallet management, and dApp usage while driving adoption with real consumers.

The partnership between Gateway App and Concordium directly addresses the challenge of Web3 adoption by rewarding activity and engaging users. Gateway App motivates users to explore and leverage Web3 solutions by providing an interactive and rewarding gamified experience, closing the gap between curiosity and practical application.

Technical Implementation for Real-world Impact

Gateway will utilize Concordium’s smart contracts for minting and trading NFTs, deploy on-chain casual games on the Concordium mainnet, utilize CCD to power their reward system, deploy their native Gateway token on Concordium, and authenticate users on-chain using Concordium Identity. These technical implementations will provide users with a seamless and rewarding Web3 experience.

“We are thrilled to partner with Concordium to revolutionize Web3 adoption via Gaming,” said Oluwashina Peter, Co-founder and CEO of Gateway App.

“Our platform, powered by Concordium’s advanced technology, will empower users to play games, learn and earn while driving engagement and fostering innovation in the Web3 ecosystem.”

Empowering Users and dApps

The outcome of this partnership announcement is clear: Empowering users to play games where they have true ownership of their in-game assets, learn and earn rewards by discovering new dApps to increase adoption.

Looking Ahead

The Gateway App team diligently works on the project, having already secured a grant from Concordium. The platform is expected to go live on Concordium by early Q2 2024 with the first fighter game Ija: Battle of the gods
