Tl;dr Major updates to the Concordium CryptoX wallet for iOS and Android will be released on October 28th, 2024. The updates enhance functionality and security improvements, ensuring feature parity across both platforms. The updates introduce support for WalletConnect enhancements, new Validator management, Protocol 7, and a complete CCD onramp flow, offering a seamless experience for all users. Important User Alert

As part of the iOS update, all users will be force-logged out upon installation. To avoid any loss of access, users must save their seed phrase to log back into the app and recover their accounts. We highly recommend that users back up their seed phrase before the update goes live on Monday, Oct 28th.

iOS Update

In response to user feedback and in line with our mission to streamline user experience, this iOS update brings the much-anticipated feature parity with Android. Users will no longer face differences in features and capabilities across platforms, resulting in a consistent and optimized experience for all.

This release introduces a series of key enhancements to improve the wallet’s performance and usability:

• Improved WalletConnect: Transfers, message signing, and detailed transaction previews for enhanced security and control.
• New Validator Management Tools: Set up and update Validator pool commission rates directly in the app.
• Full CCD Onramp Flow: Simplified and direct onramp for users to buy CCD.
• Push Notifications: Real-time alerts for incoming CCD and CIS-2 token transactions.
• New News Tab: Stay updated with relevant crypto news directly from the app.

The iOS update also includes support for Protocol 7, allowing users to reduce delegation stake without locking the entire amount.

Android Update

The Android version of the CryptoX wallet will be updated simultaneously, bringing similar improvements and new features:

• Notifications: Real-time notifications for incoming CCD and CIS-2 token transactions.
• Private Key recovery support: Users who cannot reveal their seed phrase can now use the private key to restore their wallet.
• Protocol 7 Support: Reducing validation/delegation stake no longer locks the whole amount.

Technical Updates and Bug Fixes

Across both platforms, several improvements and bug fixes ensure a smoother, more efficient wallet experience. These include removing legacy flows, adding multi-environment support, and resolving issues related to WalletConnect sessions and transaction signing.

Please note that all iOS users will be automatically logged out upon installation. To regain access to your account, ensure your seed phrase is securely backed up before the update.
